Stourbridge Line rail excursions offer a variety of fall experiences for the entire family. There is nothing quite like a train ride through the beautiful Pocono countryside during fall foliage season. The Stourbridge Line, out of Honesdale, offers not only scenic views but also a variety of themed programs just for fall.
This year’s programs include:
Bavarian Festival (October 3rd) Dust off your lederhosen and climb on board this 5-hour round trip excursion to Lackawaxen for a hearty festival that is complemented by the heel kickin', toe tappin' strains of Joe Lindner and his band. Sing. Dance. Eat. A delicious German-style feast from the Alpine Wurst & Meathouse is included!
Fall Foliage (October 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th) Revel in the breathtaking fall colors on a 4 1/2 hour round trip ride along the shimmering Lackawaxen River. Clap and sing along as merry musician strolls through your vintage coach. Step back in time as you disembark in the Victorian village of Lackawaxen and tour the Zane Grey Museum. Marvel at the engineering masterpiece of the Roebling Aqueduct Suspension Bridge.
Halloween Fun (October 24th) This rail ride is for the kiddies. Ghosts and goblins galore, they all adore the costumes, treats and prizes that make this approximately 2 1/2-hour trip a favorite with children of all ages. All are invited to join in the fun and wear their Halloween best. The train will stop at the Hawley Station Pumpkin Patch where cider, pumpkins and donuts will be available for purchase.
Reservations are recommended for all fall tours as tickets sell out quickly.
