Forget about those fancy hotels in the heart of the city! When you want to plan an inexpensive getaway to Chicago, you have to look for deals outside the Loop.
How about staying in historic Wrigleywille?
This northern section of the city boasts bargain shops and affordable restaurants. It is also home to one of the most beloved baseball teams in America, the Chicago Cubs. And since summer is approaching, there will be baseball games going on for the next six months!
The Sheffield House Hotel sits on Sheffield Avenue just a few blocks away from the ballpark. Room rates start as low as $65 a night, and a small upgrade to a bigger room only costs $5 more!
Although you should plan ahead when booking your trip, the Sheffield House Hotel may have vacancies for you last-minute, jet-setting travelers. On New Year's Eve in 2008, while the hotel was almost full of people spendinig the night to go to the Winter Classic hockey game at Wrigley Field the next morning, it still had a few vacancies at 5 p.m.!
