Quiet chevron-shaped UFO low over Missouri makes three appearances

MO, June 30, 2009 - Chevron shaped 8 lights flew in from the east.

I was at home,sweeping the deck and star watching. I stopped and took notice of it because of the size of the lights. Came over the tree line from the east. I thought could this be an airplane? Thought,"Look at the angle of the bottom light. The other two sightings were straight on the wings.Chevron shaped 8 lights flew in from the east. The corner of the right side,was turned up and that light on the end was sitting up and to the side. I believe it is like the Phoenix lights pics. Not sure if it was the Phoenix lights pics but have seen this before. Like a check mark backwards, on the right side and straight on the otherside. 8 lights, 4 on each side. No noise on a quiet night. Almost stopped and turned a circle and went northeast, slightly north and more east. Low in the sky. I couldnt make out a body of the craft. Judging the shape by the lights. This has happened 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Last sighting, June 30,2009. Appx. 1AM I am normally not too impressed with lights in the night. But the size of the lights were the size of a dime held out at arms length. This could have been an aircraft. But flew too low. Judging the size of the ship by the lights would make this craft larger than our commercial aircraft. Height about 200-300 yards. Size of the light formation, about 100 yards, it was big.

AZ, July 2, 2009 - Dancing lights seen from Dewey, AZ.

At 9:07p.m. I got a call from my daughter in Dewey, AZ that they were witnessing lights similar to the Phoenix Lights incident.

They said from their point they appeared to be over Prescott Valley, where I live. Looking towards their direction from my house I could see flashes from distant lightnening, but they said that the lightening was behind them and that it wasn't flashes, but sustained globes of light that were at first appearing and disappearing, then clustering, then began to "dance" around. At one point they said it became a triangle, then a straight line. Eventually, they moved off in different directions. After that she said it looked like "sparkles" and that she saw an airplane and could tell the difference. I stayed on the phone with my daughter for about a half an hour. She was with several other people and I spoke to them, too. What each said was pretty consistant among them. My daughter said she was so freaked out that she was shaking and she sounded legitimately upset.

CO, June 30, 2009 - Flew very fast, solid white light. Round.

We saw a solid white light, not airplane flashing lights, above crossing over our heads in a very fast manor. Afterwards, we saw and heard commercial jets, not the same look. 20 minutes later we saw it again, it got really bright and bigger for about 2 seconds then the light went back to a small dot that kept on getting smaller and not moving across the sky but getting smaller in a stationary position untill we could not see it.

MO, June 27, 2009 - Short film of one of several similar objects that I saw that night.

I have been going to the same dark sky location near Millersville, Missouri for several years. I go to this place because it is a good location for star gazing as well as ufo hunting. I had not seen anything that I would call a ufo until the past several weeks.

I believe the first ufo sightings I had at this location started on June 6, 2009. I saw several objects that looked like stars except for the fact that they were moving and changing brightness. I assumed what I was seeing were satellites until I got on NASAs website and did some research on visible satellites.

After doing my research, I realized that what I was seeing did not fit the criteria for orbiting satellites. For one thing, the objects I was seeing were traveling across the sky faster than what NASAs website showed most satellites travel. Another thing that seemed strange was the fact that almost all of the objects I saw changed brightness as they moved across the sky. Several of them would periodically get so bright that they would look to be several times the brightness of Venus. When the objects increased in brightness it also appeared that their size was increasing. I would estimate the size to be 3 to 4 times the size of Venus when looking through 10x binoculars.

Most of the objects I saw traveled in a straight path across the sky until they got so dim that I couldn't see them anymore. One object did move from off of its straight line course and changed direction. I knew that this particular object could not be a satellite.

On June 26, 2009, I saw 8 of these objects between 10:00-10:40pm CDT. This is another thing that made me think that these can't all be satellites because I don't believe that 8 satellites would have orbital paths that would take them over the same location in that short a period of time.

The reason I sited the date of the event as June 27, 2009, is because that night I was able to get a short video of one of the objects on a camcorder I borrowed from my brother.

As of Monday, June 29, I am still seeing the objects. I plan to continue to go to the sight to try and gather more video evidence.

FL, June 30, 2009 - Bright hovering orb

I was driving home when i saw a bright orb hovering at a low altitude. i thought it was a plane at first.It was a bright sphere shaped object .i didnt manage to get a picture because it starting rising then moving in a opposite direction.

CA, June 30, 2009 - Black UFO, round disc shape that was rotating about its planar axis.

This object was observed in Pasadena at the Caltech campus, just off Wilson Avenue to the west, at 8pm. It was heading north at quite a slow speed. I had just finished work and was heading over to the parking structure. There is a nice open space with a good view of the sky and I was taking in the view whilst walking. This is when I noticed the object, which was silhouetted clearly.

At first I thought it was a helicopter as they're quite common around here. I also thought it might be a bird gliding high up. Closer scrutiny showed none of these to be the case.

It was perfectly black, and could be seen clearly against the sky, which was still light as the sun hadn't set yet. What I observed literally was a perfectly round, black spot that changed shape to a thin line and back again, with a period of about 5 seconds. It looked to me a like a disc that was rotating about its planar axis, to give the appearance of a spot that was alternating its shape with that of a thin line. It was travelling along the direction of its axis of rotation, towards the north before it got lost to my vision behind other buildings and trees. I tried to find it again after getting on my motorcycle and heading north, but to no avail. As I mentioned, it's speed was relativity slow, and it was not moving in a straight line. It was meandering and hovering, but it's general direction was north.

From its movement, I estimate that it was about 1km away and had a diameter of 50-100 metres (very subjective of course).

NY, July 1, 2009 - Strange orange color, started as circle and changed colors.

we were on break from 9:00 to 9:25. noticed a strange colored object approaching from the south, heading northewest. the first thing we noticed was the color. the orange color caught our attention. it moved slowly from south to northeast. I dont know why, but the color and shape changed, from time to time. i just thought it was a plane, but there was no strobe from the oblect, and i know planes strobe. tHE THING THAT CLINCHED IT FOR ME WAS WHEN THE OBJECT MADE AN "L" TURN LEFT, AT A GOOD SPEED. THE OBJECT SLOWED, AND THEN WENT STRAIGHT UP INTO THE CLOUDS. WE WERE SHOCKED AT THE SPEED IT WENT UP. WE NEVER SAW IT AGAIN.

CA, July 2, 2009 - UFO shot over our house at a rapid speed, stick shaped object with 2 fiery balls at each end, center was dim. Soundless.

At 0330 hrs. I walked out front deck to feed the cat, then stopped a minute to have a cigarette. I was looking up in the sky towards the west when I saw a fiery object flying at a very rapid speed twoards our home , it did then fly right over our house, only a couple hundred ft. above the tree line, we have tall pines on our property so they are about 100 ft. tall...the object was not that high up, I could see it clearly...reminded me of a childs baton, a long stick with a bulb at each end...the center was dim, but the 2 lights at each end were fiery color and bright. The object was soundless, it was not a very large object, about the length of an old Toyota car best I can explain. It went over so fast I didnt'have time to wake my husband or get the camera, I did run around the house to see it again but by the time I got out back the object was gone. Please note the object did disturb our cat out front, the cat was very upset for about half hour after the event...I have never seen anything like that, was kind of disturbing to me also.

PA, July 3, 2009 - The object was black and cigar shaped.

I was heading home from work, south bound on i95. It was a nice day and I was noticing how picturesque the sky looked. I have seen a few unusual cloud formations recently and have become fond of taking pictures of them. I saw an amazing cloud bank straight ahead over the high way, and thought wow this would be a nice shot. I had my camera on the seat right next to me, but decided that trying to take a picture wile driving was a bad idea. Then I saw what at first glance looked like a plain, but then I realized I never see plains flying across this part oh the highway. The other thing was that it was black and did not appear to have wings or any vertical control surfaces. Just as I was trying to figure out what this could be it vanished right before my eyes. I attempted to rationalize what I saw by telling myself it flew into the clouds, but the object never changed altitude and it was well below the clouds. The part that really got me going happened about three minutes after the object disappeared. I saw a fighter jet flying from the direction the object originally came from. It was moving conspicuously fast and then it accelerated out of sight. The fighter looked like an F18.

OR, July 1, 2009 - I was sitting on my deck at approx. 2200 hrs when I noticed an object I thought was Mars start to move.

At approximately 2200 hrs on 1 july 2009 I was sitting on my deck, which faces south, when I noticed an object, which I thought was mars because it had a red cast to it, go from a stationary position and start moving south. It then made a sharp left turn and started moving east. It then made a another left turn and started north. When it started it was about at a 45 degree angle in the southern sky and moved toward my location until it moved far enough north that I could not see it because it went out of my sight behind the deck cover. About one minute later it reappeared from behind the deck cover heading south and stopped at about the position from which it started! When I looked at it through my field glasses, it appeared to have flashing red and green lights on it. However, that could have caused by atmospheric conditions. I have no idea how high it was or the range.

I am a retired Senior Master Sergeant after working 35 years for the Oregon Air National Guard in avionics. When I retired in 1992 I was the Avionics Flight Line Superintendent at the 173rd Fighter Wing at Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls Oregon, so I have been around aircraft all my adult life. I never saw one that could come to a complete halt at altitude, start up again, make sharp turns and then return to a stationary position for almost and hour.

I have spent many hours the past 15 years on my deck here in Medford after dark looking the at sky and watching airliners make their approach to Medford. This is the first the time I have seen any thing strange.

FL, July 2, 2009 - Disc shaped object

I was outside playing basketball with my cousin when he pointed out a hovering disk-shaped object in the sky.

I thought it was a plane at first but it was just hovering in the same spot for about a minute. Then It started to slowly hover away into the distance .A few minutes later it stoped then quickly accelerated away.
