Nineteen new UFO investigation cases have been identified as part of the Mutual UFO Network's (MUFON) Star Impact Project (SIP) - an organized strike team that moves investigators and scientists to the scene rapidly.

PART TWO

Continuing where we left off yesterday - today we feature nine additional cases where MUFON dispatched investigators to a major UFO sighting. If you have not yet read part one - you can read that here.

NC, September 11, 2009 - 5 of them still here batts on both cams went dead as i was trying to take pics and vid of them as soon as i turned them on. MUFON Case # 19255.

CAT 3: This particular case is the stuff of films because it has many fascinating elements - a UFO Close Encounter of the Second Kind (object is less than 500 feet from witness), multiple objects, possible landing sites, object interaction with the witness, witness physically affected, helicopters searching the area after the encounter, and Men in Black. The case was investigated by John Michael Kledis (primary) and Robert Coley, ASD, (secondary) and the story is told in the October/November issue of the MUFON Journal by Richard Lang.

Like many UFO reports from across the nation, investigators are left with little evidence other than their gut determination that the witness is reliable. The evidence in this case is primarily the witness statement, where investigators found no testimony contradictions or faltering when questioned on any aspect of the incident. One video was submitted of a helicopter over the area after the event. The witness had burns on his neck; and it was reported that dogs on the property had shown an awareness of the objects. But unfortunately, no other collaborating reports were discovered as of yet, nor was there any ground evidence.

The witness recounts that the story unfolded late on September 11, 2009, in Leasburg, North Carolina, while his son, a neighbor's child and the neighbor's mother were camping in the backyard. When he heard dogs barking, he went outside to investigate and found nothing. But about 15 minutes later, he stepped out onto his back porch and witnessed a "large black triangle" just 150 feet off of the ground that covered the entire length of his backyard - 125 feet.

The hovering object was silent with orange lights at each of its three points. Behind this object, there were four smaller objects emitting their own light sources - one was star like, one round, and two were shaped like an egg and each was between 8 and 10 feet across - moving in an "up and down pattern" where they were moving into the woods behind his property to a grassy area about 75 yards away.

The man stood and watched this scene for four minutes before retreating inside for a DVD video recorder - which did not work for him that night - but worked the following day. He then went back into his home and returned with a 1 million-candle spotlight (not recommended in these cases as other similar cases reveal the user gets attention from the UFO) and pointed it at the large craft. The result  was similar to the recent story - Nevada teenagers encounter multiple UFOs and missing time.

The triangle-shaped object shot back with a three-second burst of "bluish white light" that came from the center of the craft. The light was described by the witness as "an intense heat and burning sensation." He then retreated back into the house to watch from a window and report the events to MUFON.

The next day - Saturday - the witness realized he had a neck burn that seemed like sun burn and was nauseous all day. On Sunday the man noticed possibly five helicopters in the area at 2 a.m. - some with white search lights. At 7 a.m., two men arrived asking about his sighting report. Thinking they were from MUFON, he let them in and discussed the case. Lang offers a lengthy description of the two men and their car - typical of the Men in Black cases from the past. They seemed to lose interest when told there was no photographic evidence. As they left, one of the men told him not to talk about the case. A passing helicopter between 5 and 6 p.m. was photographed. MUFON investigators arrived later in the afternoon.

[EDITOR'S NOTE: The details in Richard Lang's original account in the MUFON journal are worth purchasing a subscription to read. For space consideration, I have left out many details. There are also three images in the magazine - including a sketch of the main object by the primary witness. My only question to the witness might of been - was it wise to leave the children in the backyard during this episode?; but I admire anyone attempting to capture an event like this on video. There are many similar reports where electronics will not work during a UFO sighting; and then they suddenly work afterwards. We do also have current accounts where the UFO responds when light is directed at it.]

KY, June 24, 2009 - Slow moving small object rotating, the sun would flash of its surface as it spun.MUFON Case # 17653.

CAT 2: Slow moving object was spotted over Louisville International Airport. David MacDonald investigated and is the state coordinator. Spotted midway over the runway at 500 feet. Case disposition is unknown - UAV.

NY, August 8, 2009 - Brightest light. MUFON Case # 18601.

CAT 2: The witnesses bedroom in Mavlverne "lit up" as though there was a "major size spot light" with no noise. Investigator James Bouch, also the state coordinator, searched outside and discovered that the grass was fine, soil around a tree was dry, but "every leaf on the tree is burnt to a crisp, not one branch is broken." It was also noted that there were no burn marks on the tree and it otherwise appeared in perfect shape. This case is pending as they await a lab analysis.

TX, August 8, 2009 - UFO on the back of a 18 wheeler. MUFON Case # 18645.

CAT 3: Here's a case that received plenty of Internet attention as a video was circulating. Someone reported a UFO being hauled on the back of an 18-wheeler along I-20 in Dallas with numerous witnesses calling into a radio station. Fletcher Gray investigated and is the state coordinator; with Gary Neitzel as the secondary investigator. Report determined to be an IFO - manmade object.

OR, July 12, 2009 - Strobing white light-very close. MUFON Case # 18029.

CAT 2: Investigator Devlin Rugne with state coordinator Tom Bowden reviewed this case of a witness who stopped at an intersection while a second car approach and skidded to a stop. An "extremely bright light" was seen just four feet from the driver's side of the car - an object three feet in diameter and six feet off of the ground. Three additional lights appeared and the witness reports the feeling that "time slowed down." Case disposition is unknown - other.

AZ, August 13, 2009 -  Large, stationary red/orange ball of light seen hovering around outskirts of Maricopa town. MUFON Case # 18667.

CAT 1: Christine Dickey investigated this case where a "large, bright red/orange orb of light" hovered over Maricopa, Arizona. Case disposition is unknown - UAV.

KS, August 21, 2009 - Triangular shaped thin black object (about the size of a small house) with numerous lights underneath passed directly over my friends and I just above treetop height. MUFON Case # 18813.

CAT 2: A "thin black object" the size of a house, triangle in shape, with multiple lights underneath was reported over Shawnee, Kansas. Investigated by Robert Powell. Six witnesses report that the object was just above the tree tops. Case disposition is unknown - UAV.

VA, August 23, 2009 -  3 Metal Triangles in Dulles Flightline. MUFON Case # 18855.

Three black triangle-shaped objects were reported to be circling around each other and ascending at the same time - when one of those objects "zipped quickly across the sky, from east to west." Investigated by Norm Gagnon in Manassas, Virginia. Case disposition is unknown - UAV.

TX, August 3, 2009 - Orange-Red Light releases smaller red light; possibly oval-shaped. MUFON Case # 18662.

Airline flight crew at Houston International Airport reported an "orange-red light" that was releasing a smaller red light - possibly an oval shape. The crew witnessed this event from their flight deck while waiting for taxi clearance to the runway. Investigated by James Clarkson. Case disposition is unknown - UAV.
