Molly Huddle looks to defend her USA 10K title this Monday at the Tufts Health Plan 10K for Women in Boston. Huddle won the 2008 championship in 32:52 beating Amy Rudolph by 13 seconds.  A strong field of women headlines the event including:  1984 Olympic Marathon Gold Medalist, Joan Benoit-Samuelson; Sara Hall; Amy Rudolph and Katie McGregor. Other top contenders include:  Magdelena Lewy-Boulet, who is tuning up for the upcoming ING New York City Marathon and Mary Akor, who ran in the USA Women's Marathon Championship last weekend and is scheduled to run the Columbus Half Marathon on Sunday, October 18th.  Ohioan, Carrie Anne Birth will also try for  a shot of the $26,450 total purse.

The Tufts Health Plan 10K for Women is celebrating its 33rd year, and it has hosted the USA Women's 10K Championship 15 out of the past 16 years.  For more race details, go to:  http://www.tuftshealthplan.com/tufts10k/.
