You may have heard about or actually seen Ben Stein’s film last year called "Expelled: No intelligence allowed; which was a big hit on the political and Christian conservative front. Well, it seems that he has gotten into some hot water with the University of Vermont over his so-called “anti-science” views. In reality, his views are anything but anti-science. Stein wants scientific viewpoints on creationism, but many secular scientists refuse to think that there may be more to all of the Universe than just a random accident and will not think outside the box. A very narrow minded view of how we all got here.
Ben Stein is a prolific writer, commentator, comedian and he is also a lawyer. When he heard of the email outrage, he declined the invitation to speak at the U of VM although only about a half dozen emails were from anyone associated with the University. Ben Stein is one of a kind. His sense of humor is dry but funny. He is well liked in conservative circles because of his political and social views.
In his movie "Expelled", interviews with various research scientists who had been ‘called out’ by the secular scientific community because their views on the Darwinian theory are so much different than mainstream science, are shown in open discussion.
Atheists were up in arms about Stein’s film because he had (and has) the audacity to challenge the mainstream (and unmovable) scientific community about their Darwinian ideas. Sometimes, I guess it just hurts too much for the scientific community to admit that there may be more to this Universe than meets their Darwinian egos. In many cases, Scientific theory is really nothing more than an educated guess. If “A” happened, then it would be logical for “B” to follow. That to me is nothing more than guess work.
But both the unmovable scientific community and Stein will remain. Christians will continue to believe in God’s Holy Word, and the mainstream scientific community will continue to believe in their “theories” of evolution. Wouldn't you think that one day science must crawl out of the Dark Ages?
