Sweetheart deals and pay to play politics is alive and well in our countries capital.  However, what is really a concern for Christians is the fact that the current Senate healthcare bill STILL has the prospect of taxpayer funded abortion.  Of course this bill will now have to be blended with the House version of their healthcare bill which also contains taxpayer funded abortions, to then come up with the final bill.

Harry Reid (left) inserted a $300 million earmark in his healthcare bill to buy the vote of Senator Mary Landrieu. That was enough for Landrieu to side with Harry and vote in favor of the bill. When the media reported that Landrieu pulled off just a $100 million lottery for her state, Landrieu denied the report but defended her actions by saying, “I am not going to be defensive about asking for help in this situation. It is not a $100 million fix, it is a nearly $300 million fix.”  She was bragging!

It appears that Harry Reid (D-NV) has no shame when it comes to making deals for votes.  Of course, Mary Landrieu (right) (D-NV) is in the same boat.  Question is; who was holding who as a political hostage in this case?  All of this (should the final bill pass) is at the expense of our children and grandchildren.  Christians will not tolerate taxpayer funded abortions at any level, and the Christian right will be responsible for voting 'Dirty Harry' out of office as a Senator.

The 2,074-page Senate bill funds abortions, mandates coverage even for those who do not want it, imposes new taxes, and establishes a government-directed system that will bankrupt the country and kill the sputtering economy.

There is nothing to be proud of in Harry Reid or Mary Landrieu when it comes to their values.  They both leave much to be desired as leaders of their respective districts, and the country as a whole.  The coming mid-term elections will be an example of how the Christian right will have an effect in the next Presidential election.
