Democratic Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon announced Thursday that he has picked David D. Kerr, Kansas Secretary of Commerce, to join his Cabinet as the director for the Missouri Department of Economic Development.  Prior to joining the Kansas Department of Commerce in 2007, Mr. Kerr was President of AT&T Kansas.

While this is a good choice for Missouri, I am not so sure the folks at the Unified Government of Wyandotte County will be pleased.  At stake is the recent announcement concerning the initiative to bring the Wizards and Cerner to area around The Legends.  Secretary Kerr has been intimately involved in those negotiations and has key information that will be beneficial to the the State of Missouri in trying to keep these organizations on their side of the state line.
