Men's players frome five Bay Area colleges will be represented in the first Battle of the Bay invitational tennis event, which starts Thursday at the California Tennis Club in San Francisco.
Cal, Stanford, St. Mary's, San Francisco and Santa Clara are the schools represented in the end, hosted by USF.
Qualifying competition begins Thursday with first-round action starting on Friday. The singles and doubles finals will be Sunday.
Stanford's Bradley Klahn won the singles title at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships completed this week at Cal. He beat Cal's Pedro Zerbini in the finals.
