Guns N' Roses' 1988 Best New Artist MTV VMA award.

What do you get for the Guns N' Roses fan with everything?

First, you get a friend or family member willing to spend $13,500 on a gift. Second, you point them toward Rockaway Records' website where the 1988 MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist in a Video, which was presented to Guns N' Roses, is for sale.

Guns N' Roses won the award for their 'Welcome to the Jungle' video. According to Blabbermouth.net, the award had been in the possession of former GnR manager Alan Niven.

The award comes with a handwritten letter from Niven in which he writes, "In 1988 this 'Moon Man' was presented to me in my capacity as manager of Guns N' Roses... it ought to have really been offered since the video 'concept' was mine -- but then it should have been presented to the talents I stole from -- the makers of the movies 'Midnight Cowboy', 'The Man Who Fell to Earth', and 'Clockwork Orange'."

The award is 12 inches tall, and the plaque at the bottom of the statuette includes: the band and video names, the year, and "Stravinsky Brothers," which was the Guns N' Roses management group at the time.
