We all are looking for ways to save some bucks in this economy, and one way to do that is to take advantage of free admission days at Chicago's museums and attractions. The Chicago Children's Museum at Navy Pier is one of those places where once in a while you can get in for the low, low price of zero dollars.
On the first Monday of every month, guests age 15 or younger are admitted free of charge all day, courtesy of sponsor Target. Or, if you're looking for a short visit with the whole family, the museum is free for everyone on Thursday evenings from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. It should go without saying that the tradeoff for saving the $9 admission is that it tends to get pretty crowded. Youth groups, etc., take advantage of the free times to help defray their costs (in fact, if you are one of these groups and have 15 or more people, you have to pre-register with the museum).
