When we're suffering through the long stretches of freezing cold during a Chicago winter, kids and parents alike start to get a little stir crazy and look for some indoor entertainment. One of the options that is quickly growing in popularity is the Legoland Discovery Center in Schaumburg.

Legoland has a number of attractions beyond getting to build your own LEGO creations. There's also a "4D" cinema (the extra dimension brings extra fun, apparently), a dragon ride, an adventure trail, a "miniland" which features Chicago in minature, and a LEGO hall of fame with famous characters created entirely out of LEGOs. There's even a cafe with hot and cold food offerings, making it easy to spend the entire day.

Not surprisingly, Legoland also has three birthday party rooms, with birthday party packages starting at $19.75 per person.
