Green Day to perform on "New Year's With Carson Daly"

It has just been announced that Green Day will usher in the New Year on "NBC's New Year's Eve with Carson Daly". The two-hour special will air live on Thursday, December 31, beginning at 10:00 pm (ET) through 11:30 pm (ET). They will broadcast live in high-def from the middle of Times Square in New York City.
"We have built a great tradition of having the best and biggest music acts on our New Year's Eve live broadcast; having Green Day this year only solidifies that. I'm beyond excited," said Daly. "Green Day will make this year's show a TV event to remember on NBC."
Green Day's latest CD "21st Century Breakdown" has sold over 800,000 copies.
