With 2009 sun has about three more months of life, The Bronx has much to say about itself musically. With the ever so popular Bronx Underground scene, many bands have been fueling the underground scene with the intent of creating a wild fire. With bands like Less Than Normal, Five Cases of Tragedy and Severed (to name a few), The Bronx music scene has retracted back to the days of The Cure, The Sex Pistols, The Clash and even The Smiths. While these bands have blended this retraction with modern day romances and dramatics, it can be taken further. So far, it has been taken to a more metal sounding level along with the emo sound. Turns to Fall is a prime example of this kind of transition. Their relentless rampage of hard riffs, fast drums and battle cries mixes in with their spontaneous melodic instrumentals (IE: I've Got the Midas Touch). As well as this blend, there is also the pop-rock scene that dances its way into the hearts of fans. The Bride Wore Black is a prime example of this musical habit. With their New Found Glory inspired sound, they take the initiative of being brutally honest while maintaining a catchy, witty sound. the conclusion that can be drawn is this: this Examiner would like to see The Bronx take it further in 2010. Play louder, rock harder and break more hearts!
