It has been a tough year, or several years, for many of us. But the fact that I am typing this and you are reading it should remind us that we are lucky. Many people don't have the means to be here, and their children have even less. You can help by showing your support for General Aviation while giving to the Toys for Tots Foundation by giving to the Left of Centerline's Care Flight program.
If you donate $100 or more through Care Flight, your business name will be published on several aviation websites. You will also receive a Care Badge to place on your website to certify that you and your company are "Pilots with Heart". To see a list of the sites that your company will be thanked on, including the Examiner, check out the Care Flight website.
To donate to the Left of Centerline's Care Flight program, donate directly to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. By donating directly to the foundation, whether you are doing it for Left of Centerline or someone else, you avoid administrative overhead and assure that your donation is being used for the right purpose. After you have donated, email a copy of your receipt (after removing any private information) to CareFlight at leftofcenterline.com. You also have the option of donating via Facebook or directly at a Toys R Us.
History has shown that tough times bring out the best in us. Despite the events of 2001, that year was the second best in the history of Toys for Tots. I think we can beat it this year! Let's prove what we all know: Pilots and Aviation Enthusiasts are an amazing group of people with huge hearts. This year there are so many children going without as families struggle with trying economic times. A brand new toy will help those children remember kindness and love and remind us all that we are in this together. Care Flight donations open November 9. Thank you from myself, the Examiner, Left of Centerline, and aviation fans everywhere.
