All pieces shown here are by Amy Flomberg and will be on display
at her iPop art show starting at 7 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Neopolitan Art
Gallery in Denver.

If you're seeking some local lady artist inspiration, plant your pretty feet at the opening reception of iPop on Nov. 8 and you'll leave the Neopolitan Art Gallery with an extra skip in your step. Perhaps you'll even get the urge to paint Colfax with polka dots -- after feasting on a sinfully delicious cupcake from The Shoppe, of course.

Amy Flomberg, the woman behind the art of iPop, will be presenting poppy, colorful, bright, new works, which is a new turn from anything she's created before. (View much of her diverse art here.)

Her work typically has no rules, no limits, no boundaries -- but according to Flomberg, this particular series contains a certain rhyme and reason.

"I almost always paint listening to Tool," says Flomberg. "Which, if you know that, almost makes sense when you see the work, usually. This show is a departure for me, though. I was kind of borne out of a need to regain some measure of control in my life, and it breaks away from the really amorphic approach my work usually takes."

Although Flomberg's been battling Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease and Fibromyalgia for quite some time, nothing stops her. Her passion for art and expression is not only visible in her work, but in her will to keep creating new pieces that dance with endless possibility.

A portion of the show's proceeds will be donated to the National Fibromyalgia Association. Come on down, support a good cause, sip on something yummy and tell Amy she rocks! Then, track down one of her biggest supporters, Mel Aman (your Denver On-Video Community Examiner), who played a great role in making this show happen.

And be sure to nod your head to Jen and Ann Garner, the great gals who co-founded the Neopolitan Art Gallery this year. They feature Denver artists and they have new shows every month. If you're a local artist and looking to put your work on display, this art-loving duo would love to hear from you.
