Kalen Mehlman

Designing a nursery or child's room can be tough.  The challenge lies in reflecting your child's personality, making the space as unique as they are.  Instead of spending time hunting for that special element, why not have it made? Local artist Kalen Mehlman is up to the task.

Born with a passion for art, Kalen has spent much of her life honing and exploring many mediums. Not only has she been taught how to work with everything from beads to batik, but she has taught others as well.  Her artistic journey combined with her teaching experience has led to the creation of fanciful children's artwork.  These are not just paintings for your child, they are customized pieces of art using vintage fabrics, ribbons, sequins and a rich assortment of other materials.  You have the option of choosing the size and colors used for each piece and you can even have your child's name added making it very special indeed.  Kalen's collection includes murals, wall plaques, bedrooms, growth charts, wall hangings and furniture. 

When she's not creating one-of-a-kind pieces of art you can find Kalen with her two young children or at Stephanie's Little Luxuries where she is an interior designer.
