Green Dems Used Record Number of Private Jets to Attend Inauguration

Hypocrisy, Inc. came to town on Tuesday. The rich hypocrites arrived in their fleet of private jets.

Yet it may come as a surprise that at a time of financial crisis and Green correctness, many of the wealthy are choosing to arrive by private jet.

According to an article in Bloomberg, as many as 600 private jets were expected to touch down in D.C. for the inauguration. The runway at Washington Dulles was closed Saturday to allow as many as 100 small planes to park. And the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority said it expected a total of 500 small jets to land from Jan. 16 through Jan 21.

“That would set a record, topping the 300 the airport accommodated for President George W. Bush’s 2004 inaugural,” an Airports Authority says in the article.

For the mathematically challenged, Obama's rich buddies used double the number of jets used by the Bushies in 2005. That is double the carbon footprint; double the Global Warming; and of course a terrific double standard. Dems constantly lecture us about restricting our energy usage, and shrinking our personal carbon footprint. They propose increasing taxes on businesses through Cap and Trade legislation to fight the hoax of man-made Global Warming. These taxes will, of course be passed along to the consumer in the form of higher prices on goods and energy.

But nobody scolded the Democrats for their abuse of the planet on Tuesday.

While the rich Democrat hypocrites were breaking the record for the most private jets ever used at an inauguration, the unwashed Democrat hypocrites on the mall did their part to get in on the Earth-abuse. Scott's Martin's piece at Patriot Room  about the trashing of the mall, with the accompanying video showing so much debris blowing around that the place looked like a nuclear winter, says it all.

Estimates put the amount of trash left by the Obamabots at 130 tons.

According to the EPA,

Landfills are the largest human-related source of methane in the U.S., accounting for 34% of all methane emissions.

And methane is the big-daddy of the evil gases that cause Global Warming. Compare the amount of methane produced by the kind of trash left on the mall, to the amount produced by Petrochemical and Iron and Steel production in the EPA chart here.

For folks who believe man-made Global Warming is a myth, none of this presents a problem. Fly the jets and fill the landfills for all I care. Their contribution to Global Warming is an asterisk (if that much) compared to the power of the sun and the natural warming and cooling periods of the Earth.

But the lefties supposedly believe Al Gore's flat-earth Global Warming dogma. Is it too much to ask them to not only talk the talk but to walk the walk?

And leave the rest of us alone.
