It has been one year since The One became our president. Most polls today put his approval rating right about at his margin of victory of a year ago.
From CNN.
Fifty-four percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Tuesday approve of how Obama is handling his duties as president, with 45 percent saying they disapprove."Obama's approval rating of 54 percent is nearly identical to the 53 percent of the vote he won a year ago,"
But when people are asked about his policies, rather than his personality, well, even CNN can't spin these numbers.
The survey suggests that the president's approval rating remains over 50 percent even though most Americans disapprove of how Obama is handling the economy, health care, Afghanistan, Iraq, unemployment, illegal immigration and the federal budget deficit.
Not to put to fine a point on it, but aren't those issues the exact things he was hired to handle?
Rasmussen shows that, for the first time in years, voters now trust Republicans over Democrats on the top 10 major issues.

How else to explain the difference between a positive personal score and an across-the-board disapproval of his policies?
What do you call a president whom Americans think is a really nice guy but clueless on how to run the country? You could call him an empty suit, all hat and no cattle, an international celebrity, or perhaps even an amiable dunce.
