The Boulder County Fair Parade wants YOU!
POSTED July 24, 5:13 PM

I want to be in the parade...don't you?

Haven't you (or your organization) always wanted to be in a parade?  To wave at people (get that flat palm rotating hand pageant wave ready!) and have them wave back.  To throw candy to the little kids on the sidelines and have their parents tell them that it’s okay to eat it because you aren’t a stranger. To hopefully get lucky enough to follow one of the high school bands because you know everyone gets pumped up by those drums.  Don't you ever watch parades on TV from your well worn spot on the sofa and wish that YOU could be the one people were watching from their well worn spots on their sofas?

Well...it's your time to shine and also be part of the home town excitement (or if you aren’t part of our hometown…we’re nice and won’t boo you!). In advance of the upcoming Boulder County Fair, the parade goes right smack down the middle of downtown Longmont. The deadline for parade entries has just been extended to August 1st. http://www.timescall.com/news_story.asp?ID=10061.

The organizers are at least 50 entries short of what they would like for the parade which is on Saturday, August 2nd. The entries can consist of many different categories (go ahead…pick one!) and the form can be found here:  http://www.bouldercountyfair.org/boulder_county_fair_parade1.htm . The theme for the parade is “Back to Our Roots” (your original haircolor?)

So decorate up your husband’s truck (the one he usually won’t let you drive) or dress up your basset hound (they are a crowd favorite!) and put it into your teenager’s long forgotten wagon because the Boulder County Fair Parade wants you (yes, YOU!) and fifty more too.

Don’t let the parade pass you by!  Then you’ll just be leftover confetti.
