In what has been turned out to be a rash of cancellations by headlining rock artists, Canadian rockers Nickelback have added their name to the list by cancelling the first date of their Australian tour on November 10th in Brisbanne.
According to their official website, the band has been forced to cancel the first show at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre due to “production delays” and report that the sold out show on Wednesday, Nov 11th at Brisbane will take place as scheduled.
Fans that have purchased tickets to the Tuesday, Nov 10th show can obtain refunds at the original place of purchase or from Tickettek.
In the last 24 hours, Yahoo reports that Eric Clapton has pulled out of this week's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert extravaganza in New York (10/23) to have gallstones removed, organizers said on Monday.
Bruce Springsteen, also slated for to play the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show in NY, canceled a Monday night performance in Kansas City (10/26). Acccording to his official website, he was bereaved after his cousin and road crew member, Lenny Sullivan, died. Tickets are being refunded.
Pollstar reports that Elton John cancelled his Friday night show (10/23) at the Sheffield Arena due to flu. Sir Elton also postponed his scheduled Saturday concert at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena and t night’s show (10/27) at London’s Wembley Arena. New dates for the postponed Newcastle and London shows have yet to be announced.
