The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers have lost starting center Jeff Tow-Arnett for the remainder of the season due to a broken leg.
The senior former walk-on from Redwood Valley, Minn. broke his right leg during the final minute of Saturday's 31-28 loss to Wisconsin.
This is not the first serious injury for Tow-Arnett. He played most of last season with a torn ACL. He had surgery following the regular season finale against Iowa and did not play in the Insight Bowl.
He has 11 career starts and 20 games played in three seasons with the Gophers.
Redshirt sophomore Trey Davis is expected to replace Tow-Arnett in the starting lineup with reshirt junior D.J. Burris serving as the backup.
Also, the Gophers lost sophomore backup safety Mike Rallis to a similar injury against California.
