Former SF Mayor Willie Brown is "the voice of the fan" on 49ers Postgame Live

There is more sports coverage than ever before because fans want it
This fall, the San Francisco 49ers partnered up with Comcast SportsNet Bay Area to bring the 49ers Faithful, a 90-minute long show called 49ers Postgame Live.
Inspired by the show of the same name for the Philadelphia Eagles, the 49ers show has three studio hosts and one who is well-known in political circles and is also known to speak his mind much to the dismay of his critics.
Of course, with a show that's personality driven, there is no one better than the flamboyant Willie L. Brown, the former mayor of San Francisco. Willie served as mayor from January 8, 1996-January 8 2004.
I got the opportunity to catch up with "Da Mayor", last Sunday for an exclusive one-on-one interview after the postgame show following the 49ers game vs. the Indianapolis Colts.
Ryan Leong: Mayor Brown, after all these years that you were trying to get the 49ers stadium project funded and everything, how do you like being part of this show and being the "voice of the fan"?
Wilie Brown: I love being part of the show. It would be even better if we were about to celebrate, the opening of the new stadium that we caused the voters to support us in 1997. It looks like we're going to lose the 49ers down to Santa Clara County. That's too bad but they'll still be the Niners.
RL: How does that affect you personally? You have such a long affiliation with them, obviously as a politician....
WB: I'm actually almost a fifty year season ticket holder for the 49ers. I can assure you though, that I don't think I'll be a season ticket holder if they're in Santa Clara. I was a season ticket holder out at Kezar and even today out at Candlestick. It's been a great, great run but I don't think I want to go every Sunday down to Santa Clara, so I hope Comcast keeps this show going so that I have an excuse not to.
RL: And what do you think of being involved with this show the way you have been, as you mentioned, a long time season ticket holder, all your political ties with the team....
WB: I suspect like most fans, I'm realizing a dream that they can't realize. You just don't know how wonderful it is to be able to chat about that which you absolutely love every Sunday with talented people like Eric Davis, and Gary Radnich. There's just no way to imagine ever doing that. When I did politics, all those years, I never dreamed that one day I would be actually considered a legitimate sportscaster.
