A favorite walking spot for people in the Beavercreek area south of Oregon City is the walking path that circles Stone Creek Golf Club. The barkdust path begins at the pro shop and circles past beautiful homes before passing along the south edge of the golf course and back to the pro shop.
The three-mile walking route is perfect for a workout, with some good uphills and downhills. There is a porta-john at the pro shop and another one at the halfway point on the west side of the golf course.
Snow and ice were still covering the greens today, so there were no golfers. The road surface was clear and we first circled on the road from the pro shop on the east side to the road's end on the west side. Rather than chance the barkdust route being icy/snowy, we circled back. At that time we decided to take this rare opportunity to walk on the paved paths around each hole, as there were no golfers.
I used AllSportGPS on my Blackberry to map our walk.
Other Portland area golf courses with walking routes around them include Glendoveer Golf Course in east Portland.
