While the rest of Greater Philadelphia is busy waiting to root on the Phillies in the World Series, I’m busy catching up on emails. (Yes, I’m multitasking – the TV is on, too, but I’m taking advantage of the rain delay.)
The Founder Factory is an inspirational, one-day conference where world-class Philadelphia-area business leaders will share their wisdom with the next generation of entrepreneurs. The event, organized by Philly Startup Leaders, will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at World Café Live in Philadelphia.
Guest speakers and panelists include:
• Dave Brussin, CEO, Monetate
• Gil Beyda, Managing Partner, Genacast Ventures
• Doug Alexander, President, Internet Capital Group
• Geoff Cook, CEO, myYearbook
• Jeremy J. Siegel, Professor of Finance, Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania
• Alan Kraus, Director, Information Technology Investments, Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern PA
Founder Factory is designed to inspire Philadelphia entrepreneurs, their mentors, advisers and angel and venture capital investors through real-life case studies, examples and success stories. These successful entrepreneurs will advise three startups in a Fishbowl setting in topics such as go-to market strategies, value proposition, risks and funding. Two startups already have been selected – RevZilla Motorsports and Kidzillions.
Fishbowl panelists include Beyda; Lucinda Holt, CEO of ClickEquations; and Stephen Goodman, partner in Morgan Lewis.
October 31 is the last day for early-bird registration; general registration opens Nov. 1. Cost of general registration is $60 ($50 early bird); startup registration is $35 ($25 early bird); happy hour only is $15.
Event sponsors include Morgan Lewis, Chariot Solutions, Siegel and Drossner PC, Cohen Partners LLC and RevZilla.
World Café Live is located at 3025 Walnut Street. For more information on the conference, visit www.founderfactory.com.
