For those who have been dying for some NHL hockey all summer long, the 2009-10 season finally gets underway tonight for the St. Louis Blues.
In typical preseason fashion, the 7 p.m. matchup against the Minnesota Wild will not be shown on local t.v. nor be heard on local radio. (Pick up the Wild broadcast here)
Yes, the game will have no impact on where the Blues end up in the Western Conference.
And yes, most of the playing time will be reserved for players fighting for a roster spot.
But it's still NHL hockey. And it's still the St. Louis Blues.
That means fans are only a few weeks away from games that matter and opening the season against the Detroit Red Wings in Stockholm, Sweden.
