I received the following letter from Natalite Bingham today via e-mail. Natalie Bingham is the president of NC Court Watch. The e-mail is in reference to the unfair treatment of another NC Court Watch member, Danita Mitchell. Please read this letter, share, and leave your comments. The following is a direct copy of the letter sent by Ms. Bingham.
As many of you already know Judge Bill Belk returned to Raleigh on
September 30th to testify before the Judicial Standards Commission and
tell his side of what happened along the hallway between him and Lisa
Bell which resulted in her making allegations against him for
inappropriate conduct.During his hearing in Raleigh Lisa Bell approached an officer of the
court and asked him to remove Danita Mitchell a Belk supporter from
the hearing because she apparently felt uncomfortable with the looks
she was getting from Ms Mitchell during Judge Belk's testimony.The officer apparently refused to honor judge Bell's request and
allowed Ms Mitchel to remain in the hearing.Since this incident which
occured in Raleigh Ms Mitchell has been arrested approx three times on
what appears to be fabricated charges stemming from a long history of
involvement with the courts in an attempt to get child support for her
son.It appears however that Ms Mitchells treatment by the courts has
been met with increased intensity and intolerance since the Raleigh
Hearing.Based on the information i have recieved Ms Mitchell is being sent back
and forth several times between the union count jail and mecklenburg
courty jail ( for the last four to five days ) and those closest to
her are being told its for "safe Keeping".Althought many of us may not condone the manner in which Ms Mitchell
conducts herself with the courts we must be able to seperate that from
what is right and wrong about this situation she has found her self
in.
There is evidence that suggests a connection between the arrest in
Charlotte and the encounter in Raleigh at the Belk hearin, with Lisa
Bell.. Lisa Bell has a reputation ( although not exposed publicly as
of yet of being a very Vindictive person that will do whatever it
takes to get you should you cross her). Ms Mitchell's is now suffering
the consequences of the Bell Wrath.Judge Bell is no fool however and these acts against Ms Mitchell have
involved Judge Foust and Judge Yvonne Mims Evans therefore Judge Bell
is not directly linked to the incarceration of Ms Mitchell.( as many
of you may recall Judge Bell called Judge Mims Evans as a witness
during her testimony in Raleigh.)Ms Michell has been JAILED WITHOUT BOND for apparently slapping a
sheriff on his hand with a piece of paper and is being told that she
will not be allowed to leave until and unless she agrees to a
phychological evaluation.Ms Mitchell has refused the physch eval as
these test are rountinely given by hand picked evaluators and then
used by the court to either take away ones child and or commit that
person to some form of unwarrranted treatment or permanent lable.Also
you cannot legally force someone to take a physchological
evaluation,and or use it as a form of blackmail as it appears is the
case here.A hearing is scheduled to take place this coming Monday October 12
2009 at 1pm in courtroom 517, before Judge foust. Please be there if
at all possible.regardless of what you think of Ms Mitchell the one
thing we can all agree upon is that she loves her child. And right now
a young black boy is without his Mother. If we are serious about
reform and creating a system that is fair to all then we cannot pick
and choose fairness based on whether we like that person or not.Right
is right and wrong is just wrong.As Dr. Martin luther King stated "
injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere".Right now my
concern is for justice Period!!!! and this situation reaks of revenge.again the hearing is scheduled for Monday October 12th at 1pm courtroom 5170
I wil let you know of any fuirther changes if any prior to the hearing.Thank You
