Welcome to the Top Ten Tweets of the Week for November 6, 2009. This list is comprised of sports related tweets from athletes themselves, media, or other well-known public figures. We'll begin at number ten...
10. Donte Greene, SF for the Sacramento Kings: "layn in bed and i cant find my remote. ahhhhh!!!! dont u hate that?" - Yes, Donte, it's safe to say that most people who own a television have encountered that problem. Being the athlete that he is, it's difficult to imagine him being too lazy to get up and search for it.
9. Chantelle Anderson, former WNBA player: "Pet peeve: when ppl use "are" & "our" or "there", "their", & "they're" as if they're interchangeable." - Most people with decent grammar skills would completely agree with Chantelle on this one. Thanks for reminding the general public that there is a difference between them.
8. Jon Brockman, PF for the Sacramento Kings: ""Rise and shine, its butt kicking time!!!" What movie is that from???" - Cool Runnings! The very thought of that movie will bring a smile to most people's faces who've seen it.
7. Jason Richardson, SG for the Phoenix Suns: "WTF! Maybe I'm getting old but what's up with everybody putting let's get it! @ the end of tweets?" - Valid question Jason. Maybe it's the updated version of this.
6. George Wrighster, free agent TE in the NFL: "Conneticut has the highest per capita income by state. If I move there will my income go up?" - If only it were that easy, George. One question though: what's so special about Connecticut to make it number one?
5. Darnell Dockett, DT for the Arizona Cardinals: "My nxt door neighbor is gving me motivation, 1st the Ferrari, then lambo & a 9-11 porche, not 2 mention all kinds of bentleys Now a BUGGATI" - Maybe Mr. Dockett should be more concerned with getting some jewelry before a car.
4. Pharoahe Monch, rapper: "reggie jackson is still an ******* after all these years" - That's like saying Donald Trump is rich. Some things will never change.
3. Stephen Curry, rookie G for the Golden State Warriors: "A couple on the elevator just said they were at the game yesterday and had a great time. Then asked if I played cuz I kept saying we lol" - Welcome to the Bay Area. That conversation is a good indicator of how the Warriors are perceived in Nor Cal.
2. Samantha Steele, sideline reporter for Fox College Sports: "Ugh the Yankees. I hate the Yanks, Cowboys and Lakers... because I am a real American." - Thank you! Glad to see other people recognize this. Those are the "bandwagon" teams of America.
1. J.A. Adande, columnist for the L.A. Times: "AK47's hairdos r like 80s hair retrospective. From Flock of Seagulls http://tinyurl.com/nb4axa to Silver Spoons http://tinyurl.com/y9jao3z" - Both of those links need to be clicked on to understand the beauty of this tweet. After seeing both pictures, refer back to the picture in this article and it will all make sense.
