The all-new 2010 Jaguar XJ is handsome on the outside and the inside.

The official unveiling of the all-new 2010 Jaguar XJ has been completed in London and the company has released details of its flagship that will go on sale in December for delivery in early 2010.

The completely redesigned sedan, now owned by Tata Motors of India, will be available in standard and long wheelbase form and come with a choice of three 5-liter V-8 engines. Base prices will range from $72,500 to $115,000.

The long-wheelbase Jaguars will provide five extra inches of legroom for rear-seat passengers. The trunk will open up to 15.1 cubic feet of cargo space.

The base aluminum, normally aspirated V-8 engine features direct fuel injection and produces 385 horsepower and 380 foot-pounds of torque. One supercharged version of the engine will generate 470 horsepower and 424 foot-pounds of torque. A higher-output version of the supercharged V-8 will produce 510 horsepower 461 foot-pounds of torque and run from a stop to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.

The six-speed automatic transmission will have a manual override, with shift paddles mounted behind the steering wheel. The suspension system will have continuously variable damping. Active differential control will be available on supercharged models.

The all-aluminum body is 300 pounds lighter than a comparable steel body, providing the Jaguar with better performance, handling and fuel efficiency.

A panoramic sunroof is an integral part of the design, allowing the sedan to have a lower roofline and brightening the interior ambience.

A 12.3-inch high-definition screen is a virtual instrument panel and will replace traditional dials and gauges.

In addition, a Media Hub will contain a 1,200-watt premium audio system with CD/DVD player, high definition radio and a satellite-radio receiver. There also will be Bluetooth connectivity and auxiliary inputs for iPods, phones and laptop computers.
