An official release on the launch of the all-new 2010 Jaguar XJ will not be made until later today (July 9), but a couple of pictures and some details have been obtained by The Car Connection.
The XJ is the first car to be launched by Tata, the Indian automotive giant that recently purchased the iconic British marque.

As the pictures show, the first complete update of the Jaguar flagship in many years represents a major departure from the long-standing Jaguar design.
The Car Connection has learned that the new sedan will be powered by a 5-liter V-8 engine sourced from Land Rover, which Tata also now owns. It reportedly will generate 500 horsepower. Like its predecessor, the new XJ will have an all-aluminum body.
