Shawn and Donna, Country Western dance professional in Orlando
Orlando Country Western instructors Shawn Swaithes and Donna Steinfeld host a monthly 2-Step and West Coast Swing dance on the first Saturday of each month at Dance Orlando. The dance floor is large and open, so there is plenty of room for the 2-Step and Waltz. Dance Orlando is located at 311 Dane Lane, Longwood FL.
Shawn and Donna teach a dance lesson at 7:30, and typically do an excellent dance exhibition during the evening. The dance starts at 8 and goes to 11:30 pm with a cover charge of $12 (dance lesson included). Snacks, wine, and beer are available.
Country Western dancing is very similar to Ballroom dancing. Both Country Western and Ballroom dancers perform the Waltz, Cha-Cha, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, and an occassional Rumba. The 2-Step replaces the Foxtrot in Country Western dance. If you are a Ballroom dancer, Country Western dancing is an excellent way to expand your dance venues as most Country Western dances are held on large floors, giving you the space you need. Ballroom shoes are perfectly fine for Country Western dancing, but special dance boots are also used by hard-core Country Western dancers. Dance Orlando is definitely a large dance floor, and the facility is clean and friendly as well.
