November is here! The weather is getting cooler and you’re probably looking forward to some chilly nights in with a good book, some good friends or that special someone. This week’s drink of the week is warm hazelnut cider. Add a little alcoholic warmth to your special night by the fireplace.
What’s in warm hazelnut cider?
Apple cider
Hazelnut liqueur
Pears
Ground ginger
Cinnamon
How to make warm hazelnut cider:
Slice up your pears into a few smalls pieces. Pour the apple cider into a large pot, you will probably need around 1.5 gallons if you are having a few guests over. Add the pear pieces, ginger (about 2 teaspoons) and cinnamon (about 4 teaspoons) into the pot. Place your pot on the stove top and bring your mixture to a boil. Once your mixture is boiling nicely, reduce the heat and let it simmer with no cover for about a half hour.
Once your mixture is ready, fill up some mugs for your guests. Add 2 oz. of hazelnut liqueur to each mug. Serve and enjoy. Feel free to add a cinnamon stick as a swizzle stick as an added touch.
