Livingston Couple Faces Animal Cruelty Charges
Richard and Gloria Maragni, both 63 of Livingston, have been brought up on numerous animal cruelty charges after 113 cats were discovered in their home. The cats were found to be living in inhumane, unhealthy conditions, with urine and feces all over the house.
The charges will be heard in municipal court, on account of the couple not providing adequate shelter and care for the animals.
Mr. Maragni, a former finance officer for Seton Hall University, faced trouble previously in 1995 when it was found he illegally diverted $1 million in tuition funds to use for his personal extravagance.
