So, apparently, March is Caffeine Awareness Month. Brought to you by CaffeineAwareness.org, an anti-all-things-caffeine interest group, the aim of Caffeine Awareness Month is to show folks how addicted to caffeine they likely are and all the health risks associated with a morbid intake of the chemical.
According to their website, "The Caffeine Awareness Association, a non-profit organization, is committed to the physical, mental, and emotional wellness of the public whose lives have been affected by their misuse of, or dependency on caffeine. Our mission is to provide objective, evidence-based information and advice to help reduce the health, social, and economic harm associated with caffeine abuse and addiction."
As a proud caffeine addict, I am immediately rebellious to this type of sentiment, though I admit that their caffeine calculator, quiz, and risk test are good tools for people interested in kicking caffeine.
To celebrate (and protest) Caffeine Awareness Month, I bring to you two lists. The first is a list of great non-caffeinated beverages in the Gettysburg area that are worth trying. The second is a list of great caffeinated beverages and foods in the area that you could enjoy in protest. Enjoy!

If you plan to spend Caffeine Awareness Month free of the chemical or relying on it for daily survival, Gettysburg has a number of excellent options for your consumption.
