Under the guidance of chef Jasper Alexander and the design team of Elizabeth Alexander and Jaime Diaz, the new service will deal with catering and event planning year-round for corporate, social and private events.
“Catering is something we always wanted to do,” said Elizabeth Alexander, Hattie's co-owner, in a press release.
“We started out with our annual Mardi Gras Ball and picked up a few small caterings around the Capital Region. Well, word of mouth spread, and soon we started getting calls for major benefits such as the Medical Missions Summer Event, where we designed an international travel VIP space, creating a culinary spread from Eastern European pierogies to African Amandazi inside the Saratoga County Hangar.”
Diaz previously catered for Martha Stewart and owned The White Glove Catering Company in Hollywood, Calif. There he catered for the Academy Awards numerous times, as well the Emmys. His company also catered for the TV shows “Cheers” and “Hill Street Blues.” After leaving Los Angeles for Seattle, Diaz catered for Studio 7000. It was there he met Elizabeth Alexander, and together they catered numerous weddings and corporate parties for Nordstrom, Starbucks and the Bon Marche’.
