The latest rebuilt McDonald's restaurants to be unveiled in Upstate New York are in Wynantskill, Rensselaer County, and in Oswego, the latter with a musical theme.
The Wynantskill franchise re-opened today. The fast-food restaurant, located at 66 Main Street, is owned by John Reeher who had the original building torn down and replaced with a new structure that includes a drive-through.
Reeher began his career with McDonald's 35 years ago, working as an assistant manager in a Greenville, PA, restaurant. In 1993, he moved his family to the Capital Region when he became owner/operator of the Wynantskill restaurant. He now owns five McDonald's restaurants in the area.
The Oswego franchise, located on Route 104, is re-opening after closing in June for renovations. The refurbished spot, set to open next Thursday, November 12, will have one of the Oswego region's first R-Music Playplaces. It will be one of only 10 in the nation to feature the musically themed interactive play area.
Numerous McDonald's franchises are being remodeled or rebuilt under a nationwide program of updating the chain's facilities.
