UFC 106 Ortiz vs. Griffin 2 is shaping up to be a battle of vengeance for both Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin. On Nov. 21, 2009 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Ortiz (16-6-1) will have a chance to once again prove that he can beat Griffin (16-6-0) in the rematch that fans all over the world have long waited for. The last time these two light heavyweights battled was back in 2006, in which Ortiz won by split decision. "One of the loudest crowds I've ever heard was in Anaheim when Tito and Forrest fought for the first time, and they weren't even the main event that night," said UFC President Dana White to Sherdog.com. "With these two superstars headlining UFC 106 and with so much on the line for both of them, I think it's going to be even crazier in Mandalay Bay on November 21. Both guys have a lot to prove - to themselves and each other - so it's gonna be an incredible fight for the fans."
This event has been surrounded with controversy starting with Mark Coleman's injury, which forced him to drop fro the event. After Tito posted about the injury on Twitter, Coleman's manager was very quick to lash out at both Ortiz and his girlfriend, Jenna Jameson. The derogatory comments hit a nerve with Ortiz, but instead of back lashing, chose a different path. "For me to be a role model for kids that look up to MMA fighters out there like myself, I've really really worked hard to get my name where it is today," Ortiz commented. "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy", who resigned with UFC back in July, says that he is in the best shape he has been in, which delights fans to know since having back surgery a year ago. This rematch is sure to be exciting and extremely action packed as these two UFC veterans battle it again November 21. Check back to hear about Tito Ortiz and his hopes of getting Chuck Liddell back in the cage for a rematch.
