Sam Rockwell in 'Moon'

The Summer-of-Hasbro has a lot of hotly anticipated blockbusters due out. Transformers: Michael Bay Goes Boom, Harry Potter 23, G.I. Joe: Buy Some Toys and, of course, Moon.

Having debuted at Sundance earlier this year, the psychological thriller, Moon, has enjoyed some critical success with a storyline that's reminiscent of older, more iconic, sci-fi tales.

Sam Rockwell plays Sam Bell, an astronaut miner who is tasked with extracting moon gas. The lonely astronaut looks forward to returning to his wife and daughter down on Earth, where he will retire and attempt to make up for lost time. Spending his long work stint in isolation, Sam spends a lot of time thinking, reflecting and overcoming his deep-seeded anger issues. But the isolation is getting to him. He starts having visions and hearing odd sounds and when a routine exercise goes badly, Sam soon realizes that that the company he works for isn't being forthright with plans for replacing him.

All this in the vastness of space.

Moon opens June 12th.

While we wait, check out four clips and an interview with Moon director Duncan Jones:
