Bryan Singer may be coming back to the genre he helped kicked off. At the Pusan International Film Festival in South Korea, the X-Men director confirmed that he has had talks with 20th Century Fox about coming back to the series. “I’m still looking to possibly returning to the X-Men franchise. I’ve been talking to Fox about it,” Singer said.

Rumors of Singer’s looming attachment to either the youthful X-spin-off First Class or a sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine has been talked about and obsessed over for much of the summer. The director also went on to say that he loves Hugh Jackman and the X-cast. Could Singer be coming back for a X-Men 4?

According to Empire, producer Lauren Shuler Donner recently said that an X-Men 4 was a distinct possibility pending Singer’s attachment.

Singer left the X-Men series to direct Superman Returns which left X-Men: The Last Stand to be directed by Brett Ratner. Nobody won from that deal.
