Usher was the only performer Tuesday to approach Michael Jackson's casket during a song.

Usher began singing on stage and slowly made his way down steps, turned to his left and placed his left hand on Michae's casket as he sang.

The audience applauded when he approached the casket.

The proximity to the coffin proved to be too much for Usher, however. He broke down near the end of his song, removing his sunglasses to wipe away tears.

He was surrounded by Jackson brothers for a group hug.
