In a fun little exercise, three ESPN college football writers selected the top 40 college football programs today. There were not any set parameters per se, but by the look of the selections, all that mattered were the last two decades. The scribes took turns picking schools for the mock draft.

Six ACC teams made the list: Virginia Tech, 13; Florida State, 14; Clemson, 21; Miami, 24; Georgia Tech, 32; and Boston College, 36.

Bruce Feldman, who said North Carolina should have made the list and Boston College shouldn't have, sees good things in the future for the Terps. He selected Maryland as one of the five in the top 40 for 2014.

Maryland: On board with cool-brand powerhouse Under Armour and poised to shift into high gear with offensive coordinator James Franklin. This will be a trendy spot for recruits in the upcoming years.
