  • WWC out of Puerto Rico is presenting their first PPV on November 28. I do not know much more right now because I do not speak Spanish. There is no listing on the In Demand website so this may be taped for PPV to air at a later date in the states.
  • Long time promoter Mike LeBelle passed away yesterday. LeBelle promoted in Southern California and at the Los Angeles Coliseum. LeBelle is considered an innovator of sorts by being the first promoter ever to use closed circuit TV to broadcast when an arena sold out but there was still money to be made with the overflow crowd. Gene Lebell, billed as the toughest man alive and Judo Gene was a wrestler, a martial artist and stunt man, is Mike's brother though the two are not at all close.
  • Christian v. Shelton Benjamin in a ladder match has been added to the TLC PPV presented by the WWE in December.
  • In an update on Shane McMahon and UFC, many sites are now quoting a working interview Dana White did with Bloomberg in 2008 where he said the UFC might be interested in taking on another partner at a 10-15% stake in the company. It is thought that 10-15% value in UFC would be close to 100 million and Shane just dumped $50 million in WWE stock. That ladies and gentlemen, is the foundation for pure speculation becoming fact.
  • Dolph Ziggler is allegedly in the WWE doghouse and many are reporting that the WWE "has given up on him." I think that is carny for "internet hacks who do not know the facts." Ziggler may be sent down to developmental before all is said and done though.
  • Lo Ki and the Briscoe Brothers have received tryouts in the WWE recently and the Briscoe Brothers are said to have impressed and been invited back. Not sure it would be a good career move for them since Vince is not a fan of tag team wrestling. I guess if you get the action figure gimmick and can pop a couple of PPVs and some house shows and save your money, a year in the WWE can fund a nice retirement.
  • The WWE will be in Dayton, Ohio on January 4 and in Columbus, Ohio on January 25. Tickets are still available for the Dayton show and they go on sale for Columbus on December 5.
  • And finally, Pro Wrestling Unplugged recently changed their name to Pro Wrestling Unscripted and sent out a press release that stated they would soon premier on the Versus network. According to Versus, that is entirely untrue. Among other delusions of grandeur of PWU are "firm commitments" at the Pennsylvania Convention Center to run shows and plans to run major markets like Miami, New York, Nashville and Los Angeles. None of the statements contained in the PWU press release about their future can be confirmed.
  • As always I am Jerry Wiseman...and then the bell rings.
