Looks like Queen is lobbying for a spot on the Adam Lambert train. After Adam performed with the band on the American Idol finale last week, rumors have swirled that the second-place finisher had been offered a job as the band's new frontman.
Brian May, Queen's guitarist, told Rolling Stone (via e-mail) that no offer has been made yet, but that doesn't mean one isn't coming:
Amongst all that furor [of the finale], there wasn’t really a quiet moment to talk...But [drummer Roger Taylor] and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with him at some point. It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.
Being asked to front one of the most successful bands of all time would be more than an honor for Adam, but we're more inclined to see Adam take on a solo career first. We're sure we're not the only ones eager to see what kind of music and vibe the California native will come up with on his own.
What do you think? Should Adam join Queen or strike out on his own?
Ok, all this Adam Lambert talk makes us want to go listen to his version of 'No Boundaries' again.
