Rumors of a romantic ‘thing’ between singer Alicia Keys and rapper/producer Swizz Beatz (real name Kasseem Dean) have been swirling for a while, but now it looks like we’ve got an official confirmation on their couple status.
Rush & Molloy report that Swizz Beatz is owning up to his secret relationship with the singer in classic hip hop style: on a song. In his verse on a remix of up and coming rapper Drake’s song ‘Best I Ever Had,’ Swizz raps:
Wake up in the morning and my baby cooked me breakfast, A’s naked wearing nothing on but a necklace… Yeah, she say she wanna treat me like a king; I get big gifts so the money ain’t a damn thing… She gave me a party at the Guggenheim… What’s next? The ring? The baby? She really loves me!
Apparently Swizz went further to tell R&M that he is, in fact, in love with Ms. Keys and that she did, in fact, throw him a party at the Guggenheim. As for the naked breakfasts and necklace-wearing, he says that wasn’t about Alicia: "This whole song is not about Alicia. The part about her cooking breakfast for me naked — she never done that for me."
Swizz goes further to say that what he has with Alicia is “so precious” and that’s why he’s hesitated to talk about it until now. That, and the messy divorce he’s currently entrenched in with his ex, singer Mashonda.
Last we heard, Ms. Keys was kickin’ it with her long-time love, Kerry ‘Krucial’ Brothers. We’re guessing that’s long over, but we wonder what the notoriously private singer is going to think about Swizz spilling her biz all over the streets… This could get very interesting!
PS- Are we the only ones who think the lovely Ms. Keys could do a whole lot better than Swizz Beatz?
