
The Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University proudly presents a family-friendly Halloween extravaganza for the first show of its 2009-2010 “Especially for Kids” series, the Dave Rudolf “Halloween Spooktacular” on Oct. 31 at 11 a.m.
Kids have the opportunity to come dressed in costume and share the stage with Chicago musician Dave Rudolf for a ghoulishly delightful concert. To complete the afternoon, trick or treating takes place in Governors State University’s world-famous Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park immediately following the show (separate ticket purchase required).
The Chicago Sun-Times raves that Rudloph is a “first-rate guitarist...[who] knows how to make kids laugh” while WGN Radio calls his music “on the cutting edge of the kid’s rock format.”
The Dave Rudolf “Halloween Spooktacular” provides ghost-friendly fun for the whole family. Rudolf entertains audiences of all ages with fun songs and stories to raise the hair on their funny bones. In addition to performing Halloween themed songs, Rudolf will lead kids in the Frankenstein Dance, and how to assemble the Skeleton Bones as well as the amazing Ghoul Limbo in a truly interactive, all-ages experience.
Dave Rudolf is a Grammy-nominated musician and comedian. He is a three-time Parents’ Choice Award winner, two-time Parent’s Guide Award winner and a six-time Children’s Entertainment Award winner. Rudolf has released 10 children’s albums including his latest CDs in 2005: “Soft in the Head,” a primarily acoustic CD and Westward Whoa” which won a Children’s Entertainment Award. He has written songs for Disney; opened for major headliners including Tim McGraw, the Beach Boys, and Cheech and Chong; appeared on TV’s “Bozo’s Circus,” and played Captain Kangaroo in the TV pilot of Saban’s “All New Captain Kangaroo”. Rudolf also has a variety of other kids shows that he performs including “Beach Party”, “Christmas with Rudolf”, and “Silly Songs for Silly Kids and their Silly Parents.”

Single tickets to the show are $10.50 - $11.50. Single tickets to the post-show party featuring snacks, games and trick-or-treating in Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park are $10.
