
If you're headed north along the Mendocino Coast any fourth Sunday, you'll want to consider the Community Breakfasts at the Caspar Community Center. Served from 9 till 11:30 a.m., they feature organic, local and gourmet food in a friendly atmosphere. The menu varies with the seasons, incorporating produce from the Caspar Community garden.

Baked Eggs Florentine (a casserole of organic eggs, cheese, spinach, sour cream and spices, served with creamy polenta and a basket of fresh baked muffins and biscuits for $11.50.)
Bourban Street Frittata (a New Orleans-inspired combo of chicken sausage, eggs, cheese and green onions, served with creamy polenta and a basket of fresh baked muffins and biscuits $12.)
Banana-pecan stuffed French toast served with real maple syrup and butter $9
Black bean chili - vegan and gluten free $7
Organic Scottish oats - served with an assortment of fruits, nuts and topping, soy or cow milk $6.
