He may be the son of a former U.S. President, but Ron Reagan Jr. is just as readily willing to identify himself as an Independent voter and a Seattle-ite. He did both of those things last night on Larry King Live, where he got into a verbal brawl with Hillary Clinton supporter, Lanny Davis, former special counsel to President Bill Clinton.Whoa! Reagan has made a point of not endorsing any presidential candidate, but he was adamantly in defense of Barack Obama's ability to win key constituencies in the general election against John McCain, if for the sole reason that citizens of this country will vote for a president who never supported the Iraq war and who has vowed to bring U.S. troops home. That's when Davis clucked and attempted to make the point that 'young people in your state of California" did not support Obama in numbers that demonstrates clear viability for Obama. To which Reagan -- ready to jump throught camera -- could barely wait to respond: "Lanny, Lanny, Lanny – I live in Seattle, Washington where a lot of young people voted for Obama." Davis, a former lawschool pal of Hillary's, continued to dismiss Reagan's commentary for its glibness, a tactic that continues the Clinton campaign's apparent determination to pooh-pooh any notion that Obama's candidacy is for real. Look for Reagan and Davis to be paired up for "Commentator Mud Wrestling" at the Democratic National Convention.
