With all the outbreaks of the swine flu you may be concerned about how to best protect yourself and your loved ones. Here are some tips to help lessen the chances of coming in contact with the swine.
1. Wash your hands regularly with an antibacterial soap and water.
2. If you are out, carry sanitizer with you as this is much like using pure alcohol to kill any germs.
3. The masks bought over the counter offer only minimal protection, so may not be the best for protection.
4. Sponges used in the kitchen carry more germs then you may realize, so either change them out regularly, microwave them, soak them in bleach or simply do away with them for the best prevention.
5. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth as this is a quick way to spread germs.
6. Do not share eating utensils, drinking glasses, towels or other personal items.
7. If you have a fever and cough or difficulty breathing seek help immediately.
8. Avoid close contact with those who are sick.
9. Follow public health advice such as avoiding schools and other public areas when told to do so.
10. Be prepared with medicines that are needed just in case you do get sick.
