As Universal Studio Florida's Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster is slowly but surely moving towards its opening, rumors are swirling that new Harry Potter section in Islands of Adventure, its neighboring theme park (pictured at right), will be getting a high-tech ride of its own. A high-tech roller coaster that suspends riders from a robotic arm is said to be in the works as a highlight of the new section.

According to reports, the Harry Potter robocoaster will take riders through a dozen or more scenes as they swivel and pivot at the end of the arm. The experience will supposedly start even before boarding, with a queue line featuring special effects like floating candles and falling snow.

The Legoland theme park in California and the Mount Olympus theme park in Wisconsin Dells have similar attractions, although the one at Islands of Adventure will most likely be longer and much more complex, as well as having a higher rider capacity (the Legoland version only has six "arms."

Although there is no official opening date set for either Rip Ride Rockit or the Harry Potter area, rumor says RRR may open in late July or early August and Harry Potter's fans will be able to visit his wizarding world firsthand in summer of 2010.
