$4.00 A Gallon. The Dreaded Day Has Arrived.
It’s the end of an era. The passing of an icon.
Today is the day that three dollar gas is officially H-I-S-T-O-R-Y here in Colorado.
www.fuelguagereport.com is AAA’s gas watchdog on the web and this morning, they said the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded here in Colorado moved to $4 a gallon for the first time. The statewide average price for a gallon of regular here in Colorado sits exactly at $4.00.0.
The most expensive in the state? According to AAA, that honor belongs to Vail where a gallon of regular costs $4.335. Glenwood Springs is close behind at $4.267.
It is tough to live among the rich and famous.
Gas in Denver, Boulder, Ft. Collins, Colorado Springs and Pueblo is still officially below 4-bucks a gallon, but don’t expect that to last. As soon as the cheaper gas stations get the news that we’ve crossed across the 4 dollar mark, you can bet they will quickly hike their prices up, too.
We used to call that price fixing. These days, we just bend over and take it in the tank.
